Online Course Questionnaires #
Indiana University uses the Online Course Questionnaire, often called the OCQ or course evaluation, to gather student feedback about courses. ACP students may be asked to complete an OCQ for their IU course near the end of the term. The questionnaire is completed online and is available through Canvas.
Your feedback helps IU faculty liaisons, ACP instructors, and the Advance College Project better understand the student experience and continue improving ACP courses.
Why your feedback matters
Course evaluations give you a chance to reflect on your experience in the course, including what helped your learning, what could be clearer, and how the course supported your understanding of college-level material.
Your responses are important because they help ACP and IU:
- Better understand student learning experiences
- Improve course materials and instruction
- Support consistency across ACP courses
- Strengthen the partnership between IU and ACP schools
Completing your course evaluation
When course evaluations are available, you may receive instructions from your instructor or see the questionnaire in Canvas. Students can access Course Questionnaire through Canvas.
Within Canvas, navigate to any course you're enrolled in at one of the campuses using OCQ. In the course navigation menu, select Course Questionnaire. If a course questionnaire is available for you, you'll be directed there; if not, you'll see "There are no course questionnaires available at the moment."

How you’ll access your course evaluation
When your course evaluation (OCQ) is open, you’ll have several ways to access it:
- Email invitations: You will receive three emails with a link to your OCQ
- An initial invitation when the evaluation opens
- A reminder about halfway through the response window
- A final reminder about a day before the window closes
- Canvas: If your instructor uses Canvas, you may see pop-up reminders with a direct link to your course evaluation.
- One.IU: You can search for “Online Course Questionnaires” in One.IU to access your evaluations.

A note about your responses
Please answer honestly and thoughtfully. Helpful feedback is specific, respectful, and focused on your experience in the course. Your comments can help future students and instructors.
